Baseball was always an intricate part of my life. This is a photo of Brooks Robinson and me at some event in the Baltimore area (Turf Valley Country Club). In my early years, it seemed as though I lived on a baseball field. As years passed, the love of the game remained. Brooks Robinson was always a part of this ongoing interest. I recall seeing Brooks playing for the York White Roses in 1955 prior to his joining the Baltimore Orioles. During the 1950's, the Boston Red Sox was my favorite team and Ted Williams was my favorite player. I traveled to Memorial Stadium in Baltimore every time the Red Sox were in town. I sat in the left field bleachers (for 75¢) right next to the "Splendid Splinter". It's amazing that the greatest hitter in baseball never made more than $125,000 per year. My how times have changed !!!
