Trinity Episcopal Church

The first Trinity Episcopal Church was built, in 1831, just across the canal from the present church in Seneca Falls, NY. Before relocation, the church held thousands of services and over 900 baptisms. Amelia Jenks Bloomer, famous for her role in temperance and the "Bloomer" outfit, was baptized in 1843 as an adult. The current edifice was completed in 1886, less than a year after construction began. With much fanfare, the congregation first met for worship in the new Trinity Church on April 24, 1886, Easter Day.
Architects Brown & Dawson of Troy, NY designed the church to be built of blue limestone, quarried nearby.
