24th october 2007 - queen of the cack

OK I know, it’s a shot taken, as you’ll see from the exif, last thing at night on a day when, quite honestly, I have just got enough gumption left inside me to be stubborn enough not to give in. So, “are you going to make us a hot drink?” he said, slumped in the other sofa…… “Er OK”. I said, thinking “ow, do I have to? I’ve spent 8 hours travelling, while working on a questionnaire for a client, then got home and spent another six hours finishing it all off before sending it after 9pm tonight to the client.

Then I thought “stop being so selfish you miserable old cow – he’s been at home alone for three days, while you’ve been “gadding about”, he’s driven a 40 mile round trip to collect you from the station because there are no trains into Cornwall this week – whoever thought that was a good idea in half-term, I don’t know, he’s brought you a number of cups of steaming hot coffee and lastly he popped his head around the door and proclaimed dinner was ready at 9pm”.

So moaning about making the hot chocolate seems a bit churlish to say the least.

This then, is the only thing I’ve done all day that I could consider photographing, so this is it, the queen of the cack takes yet another bow this week, soon I’m going to be spending so much time taking my queen of cack bows that I’ll wonder which way is up…..er……by the way, which way is up?

On this day last year, I did a shot that was probably in my top 20 of all of the four thousand-odd ones here on my pbase galleries. I was obviously a bit more time-rich on that day. I suppose that's what pisses me off really - the time-poorness of this life of mine.

Is it lit well? In focus? Composed? I know how it 'feels,' but no, not cack.... Just looks like you've been hanging around too much with Northy, that's all...

Ah, I remember the one from last year. One of my favorites. You little story about DM asking for the chocolate, which I agree he seems to deserve, made me think of this little response from a female friend to her significant other. When he said he felt like a cup of coffe, she responded, "Funny you don't look like a cup of coffee." Anyway, I am smiling at your writings and at remembering this story.--Rene

"because there are no trains into Cornwall this week"

Why are there no trains to Cornwall - strike ?, line maintenance?, cost saving? - or Cornwall has moved to warmer climes for the week.

Will you PLEASE stop putting yourself down! You work harder than most people and I wish your life could be less stressful. This picture has just spurred me into getting myself a drink!! Love you.
