I think it's more gatherer-gatherer actually!
I’m on a roll this week – yesterday’s shot of a very nearly self-sufficient supper and this is today’s ‘bold bid for freedom from the chains of commerce’ shot – a basket full of home grown, home cut, home seasoned logs that will be burned (at least some of them) on our fire over the coming few days.
We’ve been working on a bit of the grand plan all day and have come home tired, very dirty but having achieved something pretty good. I do like the principle of DM and I working together to achieve our goals – it’s a real partnership in a way that I never even considered until we set off on our voyage almost exactly two years ago.
Cornwall is the best thing that’s happened to us despite the fact that we’ve managed to buy two rats’ nests and have had all of the anguish of continual building works for what seems like forever. I am glad to say that we’re starting to find we can take a few days off and enjoy the fruits of our labours now – I do believe we’ve stemmed most of the rot and stabilised the new rat’s nest. I hope I don’t live to regret saying that!
Tomorrow, there is the next phase of building beginning and then we will get to a point that we can ‘finish off’ some rooms. That’s going to be a great relief to me.
I like this shot of the logs against a blue sky – it’s kind of a preparation for winter shot!
There were wonderful twirly things going on here last year!
