One Brit and her contribution to World Pinhole Day

We’ve been getting very excited in our house for weeks. You see, we’ve been building up to World Pinhole Day, sorting out pinholes and counting down the days.

DM got very excited this morning because he was putting the finishing touches to a pinhole, before setting off over the moor to get a pinhole shot to post on World Pinhole Day.

He went off in a flurry this afternoon, leaving me to my own devices.

So, I decided to join in the fun and do my own little perverse Brit shot to include in the festivities. So here it is! It is of course a pin, making a hole in black fabric. The pin is old – certainly forty years old and maybe even more. It’s much more patriotic than I’d ever be but I did inherit it from my ex-mother-in-law – someone who I am very glad is out of my life. She’s at the polar end of the spectrum of patriotism from me and these pins were inside a sewing box that she gave to me many years ago. I dare say it won’t be long before she asks for that back too.

What? You didn’t mean that sort of pinhole? Well, what other sorts of pinhole are there? Are you sure this isn’t right?

Lots of gnashing of teeth are coming from my right now as DM bemoans the fact that I’ve just used 12 megapixels of modern, state of the art camera to shoot a pinhole shot, which doesn’t qualify as a pinhole shot in his view, which he thinks is mortifying when all of those pinhole foot soldiers are out there, with their beer cans and their ikea-cams and their cardboard boxes as I post this, trying to get a ‘real’ pinhole shot…….

…..oh dear – did I get it wrong?

Last year, I was babbling on about veggie - a car of course, what else?

I think it's kewl and adds a bit of humor to the whole thing. My husband is enthralled with zone plate pinholes and what they do to light. We just worked on a project with ~24 of them with a poem no less. What fun!!!--Rene

Certainly a Hole-Istic approach to the subject... LOL!
