10th January 2007 - ribbit two

OK I know we’re a real pair of ‘one trick ponies’ but we’ve been back to Eden today for about the gazillionth time. Don’t tell anyone but it’s really because we’re such a pair of cheapskates that we don’t want to spend money on other things so we’ve dragged Claz there kicking and screaming against her will……not really but if she’d not wanted to go there, we would have done! She’s looking over my shoulder and says ‘I wanted to went’!

I must say, it’s really very cool because it is different each time we go and we see different things when we are with different people. This time – wildlife was our thing – both of us have got several dead cute shots of ‘bobbins’ although I’m pretty sure that DM has decided not to use one either!

For me, seeing this little critter was a real joy. He was sitting enjoying a shower in the temperate biome as though he owned the place. We’re not sure how all of these critters find their way in but find their way in, they do and we’re always happy to see them.

It’s my second frog this year and it’s only mid-January – is this a ‘theme’ – nah – it’s just what I saw and liked. Anyway, this one is flesh and cold blood!

We had a good old wander around, a couple of cups of tea and a jacket spud and now, for some unknown reason, we’re all pooped. We’re flumping around and yawning.

Tomorrow the good times come to an end again for a bit – I have to go back to work after a mini-holiday. I know it seems as though I’m always on holiday at the moment and to a degree it’s true – I get quite a lot of holiday because of my long service with the company and I’d only taken a couple of days before November so up until then, I’d seemed like a drone. As I have to use them all by the end of January, I’ve been off quite a bit and if there is any good excuse for a few days off, it’s a visit from Claz – she’s only visited us once since she moved to Melton Mowbray five and a half years ago. I’m very sad she’s going home tomorrow…..though not quite as sad as I am that this means I get to get my own nose back on the grindstone.

Claz thinks that people won't believe she exists......so just for a bit of proof, here she is!

Last year, I was photographing one of my favourite subjects....garlic!
