I’m tired and feeling a bit ‘deflated’ tonight – it’s been a long hard day where I’ve moved a substantial quantity of granite (very, very heavy), dug lots of big holes and planted stuff. If it wasn’t for a daunting couple of days ahead, I’d be feeling great about the planting but I’m just so intimidated about what’s coming that it’s bursting my bubble a bit.
I’ve just planted an Indian Bean Tree – I can’t describe how long I’ve wanted to have the space to plant one of these wonderful trees and now I do – let’s hope I’ve managed to find a spot that will give it the shelter it needs. Also in is a coral bark maple – I miss my one from the front garden in Sandhurst, another acer and a whole range of herbaceous plants that were my birthday pressie from my folks – thanks Mum and Dad – much appreciated.
After all this, I crawled around the greenhouse picking tomatoes for my ‘pasta puttanesca’, which was tonight’s supper and felt very smug as I carted a big bowl of tomatoes, basil and chillis into the house from the greenhouse from space. I cooked the meal and only realised that I’d forgotten my home-grown tomatoes and put in a tin of Tesco cheapies instead…..pah pah and even more pah!
While I was making this ‘masterpiece’, I was once again moved to photograph the garlic – it’s been my PAD on many occasions before but I loved the shadow’s shape so here it is again…..well, here is garlic, but of course it’s not EXACTLY the same garlic as before – those bulbs have been eaten long-since!
Last year I was bemoaning the use of bad grammar!
