I’m in London at the moment, for several business meetings. Boy is it hot here! I have only just realised today that the temperature is several degrees warmer in the South East than it is at home. Not only that, but with the pollution it makes for a distinctly uncomfortable experience. I value the clear air of home even more than usual when I find it like this!
Taking the opportunity of some company, I decided to catch up with my ‘best buddy’, Shazbop. She’s just moved house and is now just a hop, skip and jump from my office.
She gave me a grand tour of the new house (very nice) then after a cuppa, we wandered down the road for supper. She’s got English, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Thai and Mexican restaurants all within a short walk of home…..that’s the beauty of being in London I suppose, not that I’d trade.
So, Mexican got the nod, partly because Shaz hates Indian food, I’m decidedly not keen on Chinese and the Italian was shut. It was great, just sitting and chatting, catching up on life and friends in the wide open-fronted restaurant. Yummy food, too much of it! This is what was left when Shazbop had finished her meal so her brother gained a late supper after a short walk home with a ‘doggy bag’.
I so miss Sharon but over the last few years our lives have drifted apart a bit, not from a lack of will or a lack of feeling for our friendship, simply one of those things I suppose.
Don’t you think there is an ‘ebb and flow’ of friendship? Some friendships, like mine with Sharon, last forever, simply rising and falling as things happen in our lives. I have a few friendships like this, where we simply pick up where we left off when we do get together, sometimes that’s weekly, sometimes it’s every six months! No matter how long passes between our meetings, we still can natter for England from the first moment of meeting up until the last moment we are together!
BTW - not bad for hand-held at 1/4 second???!!!
Last year, my Lensbaby arrived in my world!
