8th June 2006 - everybody needs a bosom for a pillow

….even DM would agree with that, after deciding to lie on the beach and use a Rolleicord and a Billingham bag as a pillow. He thought it was a jolly good wheeze at first, until he realised how very uncomfortable the Rollei is to sleep on.

Anyway, I had no intention of a pic of him, but the sunlight, his pose and the evening shadows made for such a nice shot that I decided ‘what the heck’.

Blistering hot sunshine today made for an uncomfortable working temperature – DM’s PC is dead so he’s been hard at it putting together ‘Billys’ from Ikea. We popped in there on our way home from the airport yesterday. Leaving behind all of those beautiful Cherry fitted bookcases in our house in Sandhurst was heartbreaking in a number of ways – firstly because we lost the storage, secondly because they were staggeringly beautiful and finally because they were being ripped out by the new owners who strangely told us that after we’d agreed to leave them in situ.

So, now instead of several grands’ worth of Cherry, we now have pure Weetabix in the form of half-a-dozen Billys. If I think about that too hard I get depressed so I’m determined to think only of the fact that yesterday’s visit gained us a lot of storage.

What I’m building up to here is that I hit on the idea of going to the beach when I finished work (how nice to be able to do that) and so, DM, dogses and I were on the beach at Crantock at 7pm. The tide was going out, the walk was long, the surf was non-existent, the sun was low, the moon was high as were my spirits. Archie got himself in such a frenzy that he was er – how can I put this when people might be eating…… - a bit poorly on the way back after all the seawater he’d ingested. Poor Arch.

On our way back to the car, DM struck up this pose and I liked it, along with Rosie’s halo of footprints. Cute.

My life still amazes me – yesterday, corporate whore extraordinaire and tonight, beach bum. Think I like beach bum best.

The title of this shot pays tribute to Cornershop whose ‘Brimful of Asha’ contains the line and I think it works for this shot!

You won't be surprised to know that last year's pic of my thong got a few people going and is one of my biggest hitters of all time.....not sure if I should be happy or sad about that but never mind!

Like the 'dogses' paw prints around DM. I envy your golden beaches, but a least I also have the sea
