HIT ME HIT ME HIT ME

I’m in full-on Stiff mode after spending last night loving bestiff.com and stiff-records.com.

Tonight I pay tribute to Ian Dury – one of my heroes and sorely missed for his ‘cheeky chappy’ style. He left us way too early with Pancreatic Cancer I believe and after a life spent with the after effects of Polio then this man suffered plenty.

I saw the great man play many times and one of these days I will get around to putting on pbase my photos of him, which are exquisite memories of a real ‘working class hero’. No airs, no graces, no false pretences, just a man, his desires and his dreams. My shots are good.

This rhythm stick is one of Simon Cohen’s drumsticks from Roman Holliday. It’s one of my treasured possessions.

Tonight I celebrate Stiff BUY 38 – its ‘matrix’ – what I now know to be Porky’s Prime Cut was ‘strawberry’ – WHY????????
