11th January 2006 - working my way back

Isn’t it always the way – today the weather is glorious after we were completely battered yesterday by high winds and rain. Last night we went out into the garden in the dark and we realised we were actually inside the clouds. I still find this experience somewhat strange – it’s a bit like being in cotton wool vapour!

So, a wonderful morning and what am I doing? I’m on a train to London! Ah well, the balance of probabilities is that there will sooner or later be some good weather while I’m at home. It is mid-January after all so I shouldn’t expect miracles.

My working day today consists of writing text for a brochure while on the train, then a meeting with my new team member who joined us last week, then an evening meeting where I’ll be moderating a discussion among pharmacy assistants about how they counsel their customers about winter illnesses.

I’m not entirely sure if I’ll get to post this today, not because I won’t be able to get online – it should be easier to do that ‘up-country’ than at home at the moment because I’ll have broadband access. No, my problem is one of those stupid irritations, I’ve lost my card reader in the move and don’t know if I’ll be able to get my pic off my camera! Doh!

Being kept fully occupied is good so the time goes quickly then I can get home at the weekend. I am literally ‘working my way back’ to DM and the rest of my little clan at home.

It’s going to be a long day today after basically a full month with no travelling.

NOTE: Grab shot on a train! (Again) BTW - for anyone outside the UK - these chalk horses are quite common in England - don't know if they exist elsewhere.

Last year, I was NOT satisfied with Lufthansa.....and they never did respond to my complaint - maybe they don't believe in customer service.

At least you are blessed with a scenic route on the train. I'm not sure how common white horses and for that matter ancient chalk engravings of mankind are north of Wiltshire!
