I’m getting maudlin today – usual story – impending trip overseas and this time it’s worse because I have to go tomorrow (Sunday) morning. Instead of doing the things I need to do here, I’ll be stuck in some vile airport/taxi/hotel in a place I’ve never been before and feel completely certain my life won’t be made any better (and nor will anyone else’s) by going there tomorrow.

If I live to be 1000 years old I will never understand why anyone would choose to spend time in business hotels – they are soul-less, mind-numbingly depressing places with no redeeming features whatsoever.
