15th October 2004 - an Englishman's home.....

...is his castle! Here is DM (& Rosie, Arch was at his sentry post on top of the wall) on our front doorstep amid the scaffolding that has been erected today for the new roof, which is being started on Monday.

I'm completely exhausted from jet-lag and full of cold too. I picked up the cold in Barcelona from a colleague who infected everyone else who was there. Gee thanks!

We're back in our little haven in Cornwall but now it's a building site. There are holes in all the walls where the wiring is being done and we too have smoke in the sitting room where we have a hole in the chimney breast and the smoke is coming in here. Still, at least if it's coming in here rather than our neighbours' house then we may be making them happy.

Now I'm going to veg in front of the TV for a bit then flump into bed and the land of nod........

I really like this photo, Linda! Although David is looking at the camera, it looks very casual and not posed. Wonderful!!
Glad you are home and in your haven.

Ahh, the home improvement projects. They can be exhausting and fun all at once!. Glad you home safe and with your love ones.

It must be exciting to see this serious set-up for work to be done. Glad you're home and safe.
