No, it’s not photoshop trickery, the only little bit of trickery is the starburst filter…….ah come on – it’s not been out for weeks now!
I’ve been so madly busy this week, dashing around like a crazy woman at work and then coming home and dashing around some more. I’m on fire with all my work projects and today alone I wrote a full proposal, finished another one I’d done on Monday, finished a marketing campaign and still found time to do a bunch of other stuff too. I was feeling good when I phoned DM to tell him I was still in the office instead of nearly home for once.
Bigger fool me. By staying in the office to finish stuff I made myself late on the road and got snarled up in summer holiday traffic and it took me two hours to get home from work on the hottest day so far this year and with no air con in my car (the bloody thing has never worked properly since I bought it). I have fried. My blood feels like it is roughly the temperature of a gas burner and my brain feels decidedly flumpy.
I’ve been in the house for just under an hour but I still feel incapable of functioning properly, even after a cold shower and a pint of ice-cold mineral water to try to cool my insides.
So, when Jo turned up I suddenly had a need to photograph heat and hit on this idea – I suppose it’s my photographing things that aren’t really there coming back to the fore.
Now? I am still fried, my brain is still flumpy and I can’t think straight but I now have the additional problem of not being able to see properly after staring so hard at Jo’s hand to try to find focus in the glare of the sun. The price we pay!
