This is the first time I think I've been caught without a photo so late at night. I've posted late at night pics but they are usually chosen rather than forced on me.
I'm sorry.
Today has been a bit of a write off really - y'know, dyeing of hair, dashing round shopping (yep, even succumbed to that one today unfortunately), sorting out animals.....all capped off with an early supper at Linda & Tony's house which made an otherwise drudgy day into a pleasure.
However, we didn't go out until it was too dark to get the shot I'd been planning so we arrived home at 10.30pm and I had to improvise quickly. I am rather proud of the fact that I've not failed on a single day to get a picture.
Anyway, as luck would have it I was able to get this shot of a selection of beers from the Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham, courtesy of Tony, David's brother-in-law who gave them to us to sample. It's quite an apt photo for a number of reasons:
1. Tongham is roughly half-way between Linda & Tony's house and ours so the beer was made locally to them and to us, in fact we came past it on our way home.
2. Real beer is one of my great loves - as I've already said, we live our holidays by the 'Good Pub Guide'.
3. Several of these beers are organic, another one of my important things.
4. The total irreverance of this brewery is brilliant.....one of the beers in the box is called 'A over T' - aromas over Tongham and refers to the smell of hops and brewing. This beer is nearly twice as strong as the strongest beer we normally drink.
So, I arranged the beers, took my pic, then sat down to enjoy a shared bottle of A over T (too strong for a whole one at a time).
How good is that?
