I have a sneaky feeling that Bingo is a peculiarly British thing......though I must confess I'm not sure. Let me know!
After another really hard day's work, a trip to the pub with friends for a pub quiz evening, meant that David and I had a fantastic, really enjoyable evening. We did really well in the quiz (only just behind the winners and apparently they win EVERY week). Halfway through the quiz there was a short Bingo session. I have to say I never thought I'd see myself in a pub playing Bingo - is this the slippery slope to old age?
I remember my Nan going to Bingo every Sunday night - as children, our family would go down to Kent to see the extended family (Nan, Mum's brother and sisters, cousins etc) and, after Sunday dinner at my Nan's she'd go off to her Bingo. I think she still goes to Bingo regularly although these days not in Kent.
Now, it's around thirty years since we stopped those visits - the family became more widespread, my Nan moved to Ipswich with my Mum's brother and many of the family no longer live in the small (now ex) mining village next to Snowdown Colliary.......it all seems so long ago, but then again so recent and here am I, following the family tradition - Bingo in the pub!
