It’s been raining hard here for a lot of today, so much so that we got wet on our trip out to lunch (a regular Friday treat). Today, alongside the usual batch of cooking that’s now become a part of my working day as surely as cleaning my teeth or eating, I’ve been doing a photographic commission.
This shot is one of my rejects from the photo session but despite it being a reject, I quite like it so here it is.
It’s quite a good analogy for my day because although I’ve often felt as though I’m drowning of late, in fact I’m managing to swim upstream a bit. It’s a slow process and I’m not necessarily doing it with the style and flair of a fish but nonetheless I AM making some progress.
Today I finished my advance baking for the wedding so have some time now to concentrate on other stuff. (Kitchen floor is the top priority.)
My new (old) freezer is bursting at the seams with food. It’s new to me but it’s an old freezer that belonged to my next-door neighbour who decided that now her children have flown the nest she no longer needed to keep a freezer full of fish fingers and pizzas so she emptied it, brought it round to us and now it’s full of my stuff.
There are no fish in it (yet) but there is enough food to feed a small army, made from what seems like a very small amount of stuff so perhaps there is a bit of the loaves and fishes about the day too.
