Another brilliant composition. A dialog, or a lesson of wisdom from the old women. The youngest looks to have the best seat, and that's somewhat disturbing, but your composition gives the best spot to the old woman.

Beautifully composed! The feet and hands play the leading role here, wich makes it look like a lively conversation. I also loke the angle in which they are seated. Vote

I like the framing here,it is the pose and description of the old woman that is the essence of this picture IMO.Love the high contrast and perspective.Voted!:-)

I can't decide if I like the crop or not - there's a certain tension that's created when you crop off someone's head like this, and the scene doens't strike me as needing to be tense. Anyway, love the over-head perspective (of course I do! I have a whole overhead gallery athttp://www.pbase.com/jseltzer/from_above). I also like this "journalistic" style. Nice.

Interesting to note the similar items they are wearing, the bangles, the sandals and the blue saris.
Very special and unique composition. Great photo!

I get the sense that the woman talking to the older one is a tourist of some kind... something about the shoes and jewelry. The older woman seems a little distressed.. or maybe she hides her mouth to hide her true emotion?
Love this composition Ai Li

Fantastic.

The woman appears to feel threatend by the person on the steps, and probably being that bit higher doesn't help the situation. The lowering of the hands though is a peaceful gesture in an attempt to make the woman feel at ease. From your perspective both of the people appear about the same height and therefore equal anyway, and in your eyes I'm sure they are (v). I feel sad though that the woman should feel so low that she should sit on reeds, when there was a step so near by.

You carefully integrate you subjects by use of frame and vantage point. It is, in fact, the overhead vantage point that creates the wonderful frame, with its abstractions and tensions. As for the expression here, it is all in the relationship of the hands, and to a lesser degree, the toes. It is wonderful to see you make an image that reflects your grasp of composition and abstraction, both of which create a degree of incongruity. You keep everything very clean and simple. There is nothing to distract from the point at hand. (I couldn't resist the pun.)

What I like about this is all the lines and creases that make up the form of the two people involved. A truly fascinating image.

I don't really know much about body language but I am sure this would make a fascinating study for someone who can read it. The clasped hands I like...at first it seemed to me like it's a stance they share in common but with one pair lowered and one pair defensively held up really they are completely different expressions. We don't see their faces but there are other hints as to their relationship here. Even their seats are similar...but different. Think this is a very subtle photo.

Love this!
Colours, cropping, sharpening, the moment - everything is as good as it could ever be.
I need to vote)

I love the way you framed this. I have just spent quite a lot of time looking at it. The dodgy concrete underfoot, the postures, the sense of this being just a moment in the day, but at the same time a very long, unhurried moment ... it really takes me back to Mumbai.

Wonderful capture. I do not think this conversation is going the way one person wants. But she knows what is best :-)
