Dusty the Dolphin

Inis Oirr, Aran Islands, Co. Galway

Dusty (a Bottle-nosed Dolphin) for a number of years frequented Doolin Harbour in Co. Clare where she got a bad rap because of perceived aggressive behaviour. She is allegedl/reported to have attacked a woman.
Recently, Dusty moved a few miles over to Inis Oirr in the Aran Islands where she has also got a bad reputation for perceived bad behaviour.
However, this is a wild animal and it is also reported that some people have been mistreating her.
There is also a story that she may be pregnant, which might explain some recent behaviour changes.
The best advice is not to get into the water with this dolphin but to admire her from a safe distance.
