Three Red Roofs

Patreksfjörður, Westfjords, Iceland

Patreksfjörður ("Patrick's fjord") is a small Icelandic town in Westfjords with 651 inhabitants (2013 census).
The town was named after the Irish Saint Patrick who was the spiritual guide of Örlygur Hrappson, the original settler in the area.
The economy of the town is mainly based on fishing.
Amenities include a swimming pool, bank, campsite, four guesthouses, a hotel, two restaurants, two cafes and a petrol station.
In town is a hospital, police station and the town hall for the Minicipality of Vesturbyggd.
The village and neighbouring area is served by Patreksfjörður Airport.
