This is the inside of the pants with the waistband closures fastened, and the zipper unzipped. You can see the pleated/folded finish on the band underlap. The waistband itself was machine stitched on to the pants, then folded and stitched in the ditch by hand. You can see the stitches, as they blend with the wool, not the lining or ribbon.
