Adult Male

Copyright © Lewis Scharpf

Pipilo erythrophthalmus
Count: 3 (CC)
Adult Male Red-eyed Population
Note: Sibley reports that the White-eyed Eastern Towhee is found in the southeast
with a clinal transition to Red-eyed in the north.
It would be interesting to determine at what latitude the major transformation occurs.
I have neve observed a White-eyed Eastern Towhee in Lee county Alabama.
