Yellow-eyed Grass

Copyright © Lewis Scharpf

A form of yellow-eyed grass
Genus Xyris
A side view of this plant reveals a structure that looks like a tiny pine cone, from which the flowers emerge.
These flowers are somewhat restricted to pitcher plant bogs and similar acidic habitats with very poor, wet soils.
