This is one classy shot Bart - the DOF (and film) makes the whole background look like a watercolour, really bringing your father to the foreground, then you notice his relaxed yet pensive expression. Put this one above the mantlepiece!

Carl

I see you are trying to influence the voting by looking suave and sophisticated - a look I have no hope of pulling off :-) Simon

Bart, you will look like John Le Carre in 31 years! An amazing likeness.
Where Jeff sees a samurai, I see a Zen painting which complements the Buddha behind the roses. It is a gorgeous portrait.

A wonderful portrait. The colour shift of the film works to full advantage here; the incandescent light on his left cheek is repeated in the flowers, and the blue sweater carries over to the leaves.
The subject is comfortable, casual, and rumpled - totally at ease in front of the camera. Bravo! To the far right, created by the leaves of the fern, can be seen a half-masked, out-of-focus face of a samurai warrior in full battle cry. Balanced by the bouquet of roses, a fitting tribute to your father. Jeff
