Playing in Photoshop, again, today. I took a pretty common looking shot of an Iris and increased the Hue +21,
Saturation +21 and decreased the lightness to -27. Then I opened Light Effects and used the spotlight at +50 for Intensity
and + 21 for Focus. Property values were Gloss 0, Material +34 (metallic) Exposure 0 and Ambience +14. It makes rather
a nice effect and I'm sure with some tweaking, and practice, it would look even better. Is it fair to make a "ho hum" photo
into a fairly eye-catching image....well, with the proper technique you could create this same photo with lighting....is that
more realistic....or should you only use totally natural lighting? Heck if I know, but I do think that if a photo has been altered,
other than just basic adjustments, it should be labeled as such, rather than being represented as "natural"....just my take on it.
Here is the original image.
