Our first stop for photos was on the lookout on Olgilby Road, California. These are part of the Imperial Sand Dunes Rec Area. It was 9am, the sun was low. The dunes were full of tracks, rather unusual for this area as the overlook is clearly marked "no camping" ... but today it was full of big rigs. Perhaps someone had a special permit.
