Moth eggs on goldenrod leaf

Larose Forest

While looking for moth caterpillars I came across another cluster of moth eggs, these ones very different from the white 'pearls' of the other day. These are, intriguingly, grooved. They may be ready to hatch. All those eggs on the underside of a small section of goldenrod leaf!

I have a meadow in my backyard full of goldenrod. I'll get out there looking for moth eggs. There's a website called Things Organized Neatly and this photo is winner for it.
