Pigeon horntail (Tremex columba)

Reveler Conservation Area

A beautiful large female who, when I first saw her, had half her body inside that beetle exit hole you can see. These insects are parasitized by the large Megarhyssa wasps. What looks like a stinger is not, it is her ovipositor.
