Double-toothed prominent moth caterpillar (Nerice bidentata), #7929

Larose Forest

Feeding on American Elm, the only plant it feeds on. These larva mimic the serrated edge of an elm leaf. Unfortunately, this caterpillar has been parasitized by something or has suffered an injury and probably won't survive to turn into the beautiful moth these larve become (next spring): https://pbase.com/laroseforest/image/167791250
