Ambush bug (Phymata sp.)

Ottawa East

Best viewed in original size.

When I see these bugs appear on plants I know summer is half over! One Queen Anne's Lace flower can hold 6 or 7 of these guys, all waiting within the flowerhead for something to land, at which they pounce.
