Predatory stinkbugs

Larose Forest

This is a tiny cluster of predatory stinkbug eggs, the entire cluster being perhaps 2/3 of a centimetre or less. The young have just emerged and are still clustered around the eggs, some of which have yet to hatch it looks like. The spikes around the edges of the eggs indicates that they were laid by one of the predatory stinkbug species. These are the stinkbugs that feed on other insects, versus the stinkbugs that feed on plants.

They may be unwelcome, but what an adorable collection. They remind me of the very "social" milkweed nymphs.
