Ambush bug (Phymata) on Rudbeckia

Mer Bleue area

A back view of this cryptically coloured bug, with a side view in the insert. You can see how it would be difficult to spot this insect on the plant. Patiently it will wait until an unsuspecting victim lands and then it will pounce and paralyze and the venom injected will liquefy the other insect's innnards (so to speak), and the bug will then suck them up.
