Bladderwort, Purple (Utricularia purpurea)

Gatineau Park

Most bladderworts are yellow, but this one is a lovely purple colour. It is tiny, grows in boggy edges, and is not often seen, mostly because of its habitat and because it is so small.

Delightful photo, Christine. Utricularia spp. are quite common in boggy ground here, too.

with the dewdrop eyes and the yellow 'nose', this modest flower has a huge presence..
