Virginia ctenucha moth caterpillars (Ctenucha virginica), #8262

Mer Bleue area

In spring (and again in autumn), it is common to see many of these caterpillars crossing roads and trails. This species can look quite different and here, two caterpillars were crossing the trail, one behind the other. I picked them up to put them side by side for a photograph and they immediately curled up!
