Northern Saw-whet Owl

Thanks to a bunch of chickadees who were calling excitedly, a sure sign of an owl nearby, I saw this beauty. A very special sighting! I always forget how small these owls are, about 8 inches!

It would be impossible to relocate this again as it was found as I was wandering way off trail in the woods. A random, but exciting, sighting.
