Olive-shaded bird-dropping moth caterpillar (Ponometia candefacta), #9090

Rockcliffe Park. This was found on the native common ragweed, the plant responsible for ragweed hayfever. The caterpillar feeds on ragweed and according to Bug Guide, the moth has been introduced into Russia with the hope of controlling ragweed, which there is a non-native invasive.
