Hickory tussock caterpillar (Lophocampa caryae), #8211

Reveler Conservation Area. I think these caterpillars are especially pretty in their lovely white garb! They can be abundant and not only on hickories. Initially the congregate together, but as they mature, usually disperse and can be found singly rather than in clusters.
