Ambush bug (Phymata)

These bugs are fascinating in so many ways. I think they look prehistoric. Imagine if they were the size of dinosaurs! In fact, they are quite small, and they don't bother humans or their plants. Instead, these insects consume only other insects, by hiding in flowerheads (mostly) waiting patiently for prey to land at which point they move surprisingly fast. This one was on his way from one flower to another.
