Three-lined beetle eggs (Lema daturaphila)

These lovely shiny orange eggs are laid by the beetle shown in the inset. As their name suggests, these beetles are often found on plants in the potato family (not necessarily the edible potatoes). Not to be confused with the Colorado Potato Beetle! The eggs and the adults were on the leaves of Chinese Lanterns (Physalis alkekengi).

Great presentation and info. Seems that they don't need to hide themselves nor their eggs, a bird have to be blind to not notice them. Adults have pretty coats!

Look like grapes, good not to get confused. Like the striped outfits on the beetles. Quite smart looking. V
