Elm sawfly larva (Cimbex americanus)

Larose Forest. This large pink sawfly larva was resting when I first found it. After a short while it unfurled itself slightly showing its fat white legs, and excreted its last meal! See the next photo to find out what it looks like as an adult.

Fabulous close up. It looks huge here. I like its stripe and little "feet." V.
