This butterfly is a lifer for me... never seen one before. But today I must have seen 40+. They are a very localized species, restricted to bogs with cranberries (their larval host plant). After a knee-deep slog through mud, silt and water, we reached our destination, a small bog full of orchids and bog coppers, as well as, of course, cranberries.
