Spittlebug (Cercopidae)

This quite large spittlebug was on a deadly nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) plant in my garden. These are the guys who make the little balls of foam (or spit!), on all types of plants.

How cool! I've never seen a dry one. Very nice close-up!

These are tough ones to capture, jumping about as soon as the lens nears. Excellent shot, Very fine detail and focus. Green leaf has nice color and provides an nice contrast.
