This old nest box has been occupied by red squirrels, on and off, for years. It is nesting time for these guys too, not just for birds. Taken at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, where there are many nest boxes, and the ones around which trees have grown up, such as here, and are used by squirrels, we leave alone. The swallows, chickadees, and house wrens have many others to choose from.
