Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare)

Photographed at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden. There is a tiny Japanese Ladybeetle larva hanging from the flowers at the extreme right.

Tansy is a European plant, brought over by settlers and long since naturalized in natural areas. It was used for medicinal purposes, but these days it is enjoyed for the nectar it provides to a myriad of insects including butterflies.

Pretty shot. I grew it for a while because I was interested in forgotten plants. It dies not repel ants, however, as my herbal suggested. They just trail around it. V
