Witch hazel flowers (Hamamelis virginiana)

Witch hazel blooming in the afternoon sun at the Arboretum. Witch hazel is a bit of an anomaly in the plant world here, as it flowers at a time when all other plants have finished blooming.

It's very pretty so it's nice to have these flowers when everything else has died off. Great light and capture. V.

Love that backlighting on the flowers and their diagonal orientation. Background is also quite striking, dark but with that burst of light at the top. Nicely done, Christine! V.

We have one in a pot, but it is not blooming so beautifully like this one - wonderful Christine!
