It isn't winter yet, but on chilly, rainy days, we can sense the coming of the cold season. This little bird is a Dark-eyed junco, one of the many sparrows that pass through this area in autumn. This is another haiku whose author is a mystery to me. I believe the translation is by R.H. Blyth.

Winter desolation;

In the rainwater tub,

Sparrows are walking.
