Bumblebee on wild blackberry (Rubus allegheniensis)

There are huge wild blackberry stands along some of the trails I walk east of Ottawa. They are in full flower now and this particular site was abuzz with bumblebees, honey bees, and various other bees and wasps. This is a native shrub that forms long arching canes that can entangle one very quickly if not careful!

Part of working in the garden center that I enjoy is watching the bees, butterflies, and occasional hummingbirds come to partake of the offerings. Unfortunately they don't want me taking photos

What a beauty of a scene. It looks so furry and busy in its colorful attire.
