Emerald spreadwing (Lestes dryas) with parasites

This poor spreadwing has been infested with parasites on the thorax. You often see insects of all types carrying a heavy parasite load. This is minor compared to some insects which are so laden with parasites they can barely move. It is a tough world out there.
