Feeding on a rotting grape in my garden. These wasps are large (15mm+) and beautiful in their shiny black and white. These are the ones who make the large paper nests, often high up in trees, though sometimes they can be relatively low. They will capture other insects to feed their young, but for themselves, they prefer nectar and rotting fruit!
