This porcupine was squeezed into a culvert running under a trail in the Ferguson Forest. Judging by the amount of scat at both ends of the culvert, he'd been using it for quite awhile. I suppose he thought he was well hidden. In fact he was. I only noticed him in there when I used my flash to photograph the scat. The flash revealed the back end of the very large porky, tightly wedged in there. I remembered then that I'd seen a porcupine using a culvert for winter denning there in other years.
